Nifty closed below 8800

  1. Nifty closed below 8800, Sensex weak; Axis rise up 5 percent, ITC & HUL fall 2 percent.
  2. Bharat Forge Q3 gain profit more than doubles to Rs 196.3 cr.
  3. Sun Pharma, Ranbaxy at new max on USFTC conditional nod.
  4. CLSA begins coverage on Adani enterprises with 'buy' on recast plan.
  5. Maruti January sales rise, up by 13.7 percent, Tata Motors posts 5 percent growth.
  6. 30 share index ended at 29,133.43, downward 49.52 points or 0.17 %. It touched a maximum of 29,268.13 and an intraday low-lying of 28,958.52 in trade today.
  7. Axis Bank (rise up 5.44 %), Hindalco (upward 3.83 %), Wipro (increase up 3.18 %), L&T (rise up 1.76 %) and GAIL (upward 1.70 %) were among the Sensex profit gainers.
  8. Bharti Airtel (3.42 %), Dr Reddy's Laboratories (3.06 %), HUL (2.44 %), ICICI Bank (2.40 per cent) and ITC (1.97 %) were among the index losers.
  9. Market breadth was positive on the BSE with 1,614 profit gainers against 1,300 losers.
