  7. The S&P BSE Sensex was at 28,746.65, down 261.34 points or 0.90 percent. It touched a high of 29,069.13 and a low of 28,693.82 in trade today.
  8. Bank of BarodaBSE -2.71 % (2.91 percent), IDFC (2.55 per cent), Infosys (2.50 per cent), Sun Pharma (2.41 per cent) and BHEL (2.26 percent) were among the Nifty losers.
  9. NTPC (up 4.18 per cent), Lupin (up 3.05 per cent), DLF (up 2.07 per cent), NMDC (up 1.47 per cent) and ONGC (up 1.21 percent) were among the top gainers.
  10. The market breadth was negative on the NSE with 309 gainers against 763 losers.

The Nifty closed at 8,762.10, up 7.15 points or 0.08 per cent. It touched a high of 8,800.50 and a low of 8,726.75 in trade today.

Sesa Sterlite (3.49 per cent), ONGC (2.98 per cent), Tata Steel (2.08 percent), Tata Motors (1.55 per cent) and Reliance Industries (1.10 per cent) were among the index Sensex losers.

HUL (up 3.15 per cent), L&T (up 2.03 per cent), BHEL (up 1.78 per cent), ITC (up 1.37 per cent) and Cipla (up 1.23 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The 30-share index ended at 28,975.11, down 256.30 points or 0.88 per cent. It touched a high of 29,362.96 and a low of 28,913.16 in trade today. 

The Nifty closed at 8,739.30, down 94.30 points or 1.07 per cent. It touched a high of 8,869 and a low of 8,736.10 in trade today. 

Reliance (2.78 per cent), GAIL (2.69 per cent), SBI (2.43 per cent), Tata Steel (2.40 per cent) and Axis Bank (2.21 per cent) were among the index Sensex losers. 

M&M (up 1.19 per cent), Sesa Sterlite (up 0.94 percent), TCS BSE 0.76 % (up 0.72 percent), L&T (up 0.49 per cent) and NTPC (up 0.31 percent) were among the top gainers. 

The market breadth was negative on the BSE with 1201 gainers against 1693 losers.

Equity trading tips 

  1. The Nifty pared intraday gains profit and rnded on a flat note led as banks came under selling pressure after a sharp upmove in the past few sessions.
  2. According to analysts, if profit booking intensifies in banks in coming sessions then the Nifty may slip to 8,750 levels. 
  3. The 50-share index closed at 8,809.35, upward 3.85 points or 0.01 %. It touched a max of 8,870.10 and a low of 8,793.40 in trade today. 
  4. The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 29,135.88, upward 40.95 points or 0.13 %. It touched a max of 29,325.35 and a low of 29,083.40 in trade today. 
  5. ITC (up 3.11 %), NMDC (up 2.42 percent), Bharti Airtel (up 1.97 %), TCS (up 1.69 percent) and HDFC (up 1.58 %) were among the top Nifty gainers. 
  6. Sun Pharma (2.83 %), Axis Bank (1.82 percent), Kotak Bank (1.70 %), ICICI Bank (1.74 percent) and IndusInd Bank (1.79 %) were among the index losers.

  9. Gains were led by drugmakers such as Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd and Cipla LtdBSE 4.07 percent, which have a significant exposure to the Russian market.
  10. Dr. Reddy's gained 5.7 %, while Cipla ended 3.8 % bigger.
  11. Lenders even reversed earlier falls, with ICICI BankBSE 1.39 percent, closing upward by 1.3 % after earlier falling as much as 1.4 %. But State Bank of India slides 0.6 %.

The 50-share index closed at 8,565.55, upward 39.20 points or 0.46 %. It touched a max of 8,646.25 and a low-lying of 8,470.50 in trade today. 

The next major event for the market is the Union Budget on February 28. 

The S&P BSE Sensex closed at 28,350.56, upward 123.17 points or 0.44 %. It touched a max of 28,633.72 and a low-lying of 28,044.49 in trade today. 

Tata Motors (upward 3.88 %), ACC (upward 3.85 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 3.70 %), SBI (up 3.67 per cent) and Tata Steel (up 3.18 per cent) were among the Nifty profit gainers.

L&T Q3 profit slid by 14.6 percent

L&T Q3 profit slid by 14.6 percent, cuts order flow guidance; stock tanks 8 percent

India Ratings pegs fertilizer subsidy for FY16 at Rs 71,000 cr

Exit poll results pointing to an AAP win in Delhi and muted earnings knocked the S&P BSE Sensex downward by as much as 490 points in trade on Monday. HDFC, ICICI Bank, L&T, ITC and ITC led the losses. 

The 50-share Nifty index also slid below its crucial psychological level of 8550, weighed downward by losses in capital goods, auto, power, realty and banking stocks. 

The 30-share index finally ended at 28,227.39, downward 490.52 points or 1.71 %. It touched a max of 28566.50 and a low lying of 28183.32 in trade today. 

The Nifty closed at 8,526.35 downward by 134.70 points or 1.56 %. It touched a max of 8605.55 and a low-lying of 8516.35 in trade today. 

Dr Reddy's Laboratories (upward by 1.8 %), Bajaj Auto (upward by 1.76 %), ONGC (upward by 1.5 %), and Sun Pharma (upward by 1.3 %) were among the major Sensex profit gainers.

  1. The S&P BSE Sensex slided xx points on Friday on muted earnings and worries that the B.J.P may face defeat in Delhi elections. 
  2. The sliding in the index was led by losses in in Tata motors, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and M&M.

  9. Market breadth was positive on the BSE with 1,614 profit gainers against 1,300 losers.
